For more than 40 years Aubrey Maye served with distinction as the Senior Pastor of Azalea Garden Church. Pastor Maye is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God and both Aubrey and Marian are graduates of Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Retiring from full-time pastoral ministry in 2011, Aubrey and Marian began serving AGC as Pastor Emeritus and Missions Pastor and as missions representatives for Virginia and Eastern North Carolina. They have been married for over 60 years and are the proud parents of three sons and daughters-in-love who have blessed them with five grandchildren.

Pastor Chris and Beth Darling joined the staff at Azalea Garden Church in February of 2021.  They bring with them 17 years of ministry experience in South Carolina and Virginia. Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Church Music from Lee University and his wife Beth holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Charleston Southern University. They were married in 2003 and have two beautiful daughters, Carrie and Hannah as well as a Boston Terrier named Albie. In addition to music and ministry, Pastor Chris enjoys running and riding roller coasters. He has completed two marathons as well as eleven half marathons and has ridden over 130 different roller coasters. This family loves leading other believers in worship.  It is their desire that every worship experience at AGC would be one that enables the congregation to enter into the presence of the Lord and simply allow the Lord to have His way.

Isaac and Devan Davidson came aboard as Kids, Youth and Young adult pastors in winter of 2023. Prior to spending 2 years as young adult pastors in Newport News, Virginia, Devan has been a member of and grew up in Azalea Garden Church since birth. Isaac has a great passion for children and seeing their relationship with Christ blossom as he teaches them about their Father and how to read his word. In leading the youth and young adult ages, Devan always aims to educate about the importance of biblical literacy, and instill a love of worship and relationship with Christ. Both Isaac and Devan hold a bachelor’s degree in ministry from Regent University. Born in May 2023, Hazel May Davidson is the newest and most precious member of the Davidson family.

Pastor Gladys Ashmore joined AGC in 2009. She currently serves as the Pastor of our Hispanic congregation, "Vino Nuevo". Prior to coming to Azalea Garden, Gladys served as a missionary to the Miskito Indians of Honduras. She previously served as pastor of both a bilingual church (Miskito and Spanish) and an English speaking congregation on her native island Roatan, as well as regional educational director and territorial educational director for the eastern territory of Honduras. Gladys is a graduate of the Central American Pentecostal Seminary with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Christian Ministries with orientation to Urban Ministries. She is an Ordained Minister of the Church of God and has been active in ministry since 1997. 

Monica & husband Calvin joined Azalea Garden Church in February 2004 with their 2 sons Miles and Corey. She is a graduate of James Madison University. Prior to becoming part of the AGC staff, Monica worked for 14 years in Human Resources and Payroll. She was an HRIS Analyst where she assisted in training and development of time clock and payroll systems. Monica joined the AGC staff in July 2007 as the church bookkeeper and currently she has got into a greater responsibility of serving the church as the Sunday School Superintendent . Monica has served in our music ministry since 2006 and also helps to direct our annual Christmas musicals presented by our youth department.
